May 9th trip - 73% to 96% Savings

So many great deals this week.  April and I hit up Rite Aid, CVS and Target last night.  Rite Aid is great because they have several rewards/coupon programs you can stack together.  The first is the wellness card that gets you the sale price.  The card also has a points system that, once reached, will give you 10% off entire purchase passes.  Secondly is their Up+ system, kinda like walgreens register rewards, you purchase eligible items and get a "gift certificate" good toward your next purchase.  Thirdly is their store coupons, they also have on their website a section of videos you can watch and then get a coupon for watching them.  Lastly is their Single Check Rebate program which works like a mail in rebate only easier.  For details on all these programs go to www.riteaid.com.  Below are some of the great deals we got.

Target trip May 1st

Had another great target trip tonight.  I love our Target in Atwater, and this was further confirmed by a trip to the Turlock Target this past weekend.  I could not believe how crowded Turlock has gotten.  Not to mention when we finally made through all the people to find what we wanted, it was all gone.  Entire shelves cleared out of everything!
So off to my awesome Target, almost like a secret nobody knows about.  The shelves are rarely emptied, the aisles are large and the store is so big you hardly notice there's anyone else there.  Below are some of the great deals I got with my coupons, most of which I got this past weekend from the newspaper.

John Freida Hair Coloring - $11.99 - Used a $5 target coupon and a $5 Manufacturer coupon from the paper.  Making these $1.99 each.  But on top of that Target had an additional offer that if you buy two you get a $5 gift card.  So I bought 2 - $23.98 - minus coupons ($20) = $3.98 - $5 gift card made this a $1.02 moneymaker!!!

Nivea Bodywash - $3.04 - Used a $3 coupon from the paper.  Paid $0.04

Carefree Liners - $0.98 - Used a pay $0.01 from the paper.  Paid $0.01

Scott Toilet Paper 24 pack double rolls - on sale for $9.99 - Used a $2.00 coupon I got from my last shopping trip - paid $7.99

Eggland Best Eggs - $2.04 - Used $0.50 from the paper - Paid $1.54

Tostino's chips and salsa - $2.50 each - Used $1 from the paper - Paid $1.50 each

Jose Ole Taquito's - on sale for $3.99 each - Used $2.00 from Jose Ole facebook page - Paid $1.99 (these are normally $5.99 each)

Target is also having some great markdowns this week on pasta.
Suddenly Salad pasta is down to $1.33 per box - usually around $2.69 at the supermarktheet
Hamburger helper was also $1.33 per box

Retail value of these items is $64.03 and I paid $14.57 for a savings of 77% woohoo!!

I definetly suggest anyone shopping at target to check out the target coupons that you can print from their website. And they stack with manufacturer coupons.  You can usually print at least 2 of each coupon.  Same with other coupon websites.  Click my "Get Coupons" link above to see where I get a lot of my printable coupons.  I also included some great points site that I use to get free gift cards.

Happy Couponing!!

Our 93 cent outing!!

Its not often that we have a family outing during the week but the stars aligned perfectly tonight.  Wednesdays are usually our longest days because we have our weekly team meeting with Jenna's aides that often goes past 7 o'clock.  So when I found out the next 31 cent scoop night at baskin robbins was on a wednesday, I was a little bummed because I knew we wouldn't have time to go.   But like I said the stars aligned and our team leader was having some car trouble, so meeting cancelled, ice cream time!!

I got two scoops of rainbow sherbert and Jenna loved her chocolate ice cream cone, until it fell on the floor!  Wouldn't be an outing without at least one meltdown right...lol!! Luckily it was salvageable and Jenna resumed shoveling the ice cream in as fast as she could.  Julie absolutely hates ice cream but enjoyed people watching and playing "lets see how mommy reacts when i hit her in the head with this phone".  Overall we had a great time and even better it only cost us $0.93!  Can't wait for the next 31 cent scoop night!!

Before it fell
on the floor!

Yummy!!

Its awesome to save money

Like many others I became inspired after watching the first episode of extreme couponing last month.  I had randomly used coupons before but never realized how the "game" really worked.  I was amazed at the number of websites and blogs devoted to couponing.  It took a little bit of time to learn the coupon lingo and accumulating coupons, but the last few weeks I have been going full force on trying to get the items my family uses for next to nothing or free.  Last weekend I got my first free item, a tube of aquafresh toothpaste.  Also got two full size bottles of body wash for $0.04 each. Felt really good!!
But tonight was the best yet.  On my trip to our brand new Super Walmart, which is now my favorite store, I was paid to buy an item!!  It wasn't much, $0.24, but its a start.  Below are a few of the highlights from this trip:

Reach Floss - $0.88 bought two.  Used 2 $1.00 coupons.  Was credited $0.24

Snuggle Fabric Sheets - $1.87 bought two.  Used 2 $1.00 coupons.  Paid $0.87each

Finish Quantum Dishwasher Tabs (this is the only brand of dishwasher soap I will ever use) - $2.77 bought two.  Used 2 $1.75 coupons.  Paid $1.02 each

Beechnut baby food - $.63 bought 6.  Used 2 $1.00 off 3 coupons.  Paid $1.78 for 6 jars.

Dannon Yogurt - $2.00/4 pack bought 2.  Used $1.00 off 2 pks coupon.  Paid $3.00 for 8 yogurts ($0.37each)

Crest Mouthwash (1 liter) $5.00 on sale for $4.  Used $2.00 coupon.  Paid $2.00

Retail Value of these items is $23.82 at the SuperWalmart (I know at other stores this would have been even more).  I actually paid $10.32, a savings of 57%.

Its awesome to save money!!
